International leader in transport and logistics, supporting its customers in 60 countries around the world. The company is present in Poland and operates in the field of contract logistics, supply, distribution and road transport. In Poland it has 21 branches and employs > 950 people.

Challenge

Due to the increased volume of orders in the new project and the need to efficiently manage warehouse processes, the company needed to employ a large number of warehouse workers for its new warehouse in Poland. The main challenges included, among others, the lack of qualified warehouse staff: The company had to quickly employ approximately 72 warehouse workers in the new location within 6 months to efficiently launch the new project and quickly cope with the increasing number of operations and ensure efficient supply chain management for new customers. Difficult working conditions: The work of a warehouse worker in the transport industry was associated with high physical load, shift work, including night work, and the starting seasonal increase in orders, which caused the risk of high employee turnover.

Solution

  1. Dedicated Recruiting Team: Folga assigned a team of recruiters with experience in the logistics industry who quickly developed a recruitment strategy and identified the best sources of candidates.
  2. Extensive recruitment campaign: The agency launched an intensive recruitment campaign using job boards, social media, local employment agencies and its own candidate databases. The campaign was aimed primarily at regions and cities with higher unemployment and at people looking for work in logistics and transport.
  3. Selection Process and Practical Testing: Folga conducted a multi-stage selection process that included initial interviews, practical tests on working in warehouses, and an assessment of skills in operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts.
  4. Quick adaptation and introductory training: For selected candidates, the agency organized introductory training in the field of safety, operation of warehouse systems and work in high-load conditions. The onboarding process was optimized so that new employees could quickly take on their duties.
  5. Support in adapting to shift work: Folga helped to organise shift work schedules and also provided support with accommodation for employees commuting from further afield.

Effects

  • Quick employment of 30 warehouse workers in the first 8 weeks: Thanks to the efficient organization of the recruitment process, the agency provided the company with 72 permanent warehouse workers, which allowed for the timely commencement of work in new warehouses and handling the increased volume of orders.
  • Minimum turnover: Appropriate selection of candidates, implementation of effective training and support in adaptation to working conditions led to a significant reduction in warehouse staff turnover. Employees were better prepared for the challenges related to physical work and shift schedule.
  • Improved operational efficiency: New employees, properly trained and introduced, quickly integrated with the team, which allowed for an increase in warehouse efficiency by 15%. Thanks to better organization of human resources, the Client was able to better manage logistics processes, which contributed to shortening the order execution time.
  • Reduction of recruitment costs: Using Folga services allowed the Client to save time and resources on conducting a volume recruitment process. Hiring new employees in a short time minimized costs resulting from the Client's long internal recruitment process and the risk of delaying the start of the business.

Conclusions

Thanks to the cooperation with the employment agency Folga, the Client was able to quickly and effectively implement the volume recruitment process of warehouse workers, which resulted in operational stabilization and increased efficiency of warehouse operations. The agency provided comprehensive solutions that allowed the company to quickly fill staff shortages and avoid downtime in order fulfillment, which had a key impact on the company's start and dynamic development as well as the company's success in the transport industry.
